Contemporary Artist

A giclee (pronounced zhe-clay or gee-clay) is a premium reproduction of an artist's original using the latest advances in the area of fine art printmaking. The giclee process produces a print that is completely true to the artist's original and has the look and feel of the original painting. The print is on the same surface fine artists use - watercolor paper or canvas. After the image is "fixed" with a UV coating similar to those used by artists to protect their work, the print will last as long or longer than the original. To the fine art collector this means that the giclee offers the same look and feel of the original at a fraction of the cost.

Although the giclee is very resistant to fading (more so than almost any other process) it is recommended that you treat it like the fine art object that it is. It should be protected from water and not placed in any direct sunlight. When the giclee is printed on paper, it should be placed behind glass and framed.

All of Debbie Arnold's giclee prints are done on the highest quality canvas or paper using the highest quality inks. They are limited edition meaning they are signed and numbered by Arnold. The edition size limits the number that can be reproduced and adds value to the prints. All of the prints are also hand-enhanced by the artist, meaning extra color or detail has been added after the print was pulled.

All giclees are shipped unframed and canvases are unstretched. This allows for greater protection of the piece and ease in shipping. Any good framer can also stretch the canvas at a nominal charge.
